NFL star Burrow suffers home break-in while winning at Dallas
Police confirmed on Tuesday there was a break-in at the home of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow while he was playing in an NFL game on Monday night at Dallas.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office told the Cincinnati Enquirer and WLWT television that the break-in came about the same time the Bengals and Cowboys kicked off a contest won by Cincinnati 27-20.
The intrusion came 18 days after the NFL went a memo to every club saying an organized crime group was targeting the homes of professional athletes, knowing they won't be home while they are playing games.
The homes of Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, boyfriend of singer Taylor Swift, were burgled while they were playing in a game in October.
WLWT obtained 911 emergency telephone calls from a woman who said her daughter was at the Burrow home and from a woman who said she worked for Burrow and found a bedroom ransacked and a window broken. There was also a security guard working at the house.
The NBA issued a similar home security memo regarding an organized break-in group targeting league players, with Milwaukee Bucks guard Bobby Portis and Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley reporting home burglaries.
