Weather forces postponement of Olympic surfing
The Olympic surfing events in Tahiti have been further delayed by unfavourable winds and may not resume until Thursday, organisers said Tuesday.
The competitions had been halted on Monday but could not resume when hoped.
"From Thursday, the wind will return to the southeast, so the most likely recovery is Thursday," Pascal Luciani, a member of the Paris 2024 organising committee, told AFP.
The women's competition has reached the last-16 stage, while the men are preparing for their quarter-finals.
The surfing can be delayed until Monday, August 5 at the latest.
